Music Month 2021

Music in Action Clips and Advocacy statements are now being accepted!

Music Education is going strong in Manitoba schools! Help spread the word about the outstanding music education in Manitoba schools.

Join the Manitoba Music Education Online Showcase

Once again, we will be celebrating Music Month virtually. All Manitoba K-12 schools are invited to submit content for the showcase. Videos submitted should be 30-second clips. Content submitted will be shared on MMEA’s social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) throughout May 2021.

There are two ways to contribute to the showcase:

1. SHARE MUSIC EDUCATION IN ACTION

Showcase the safe music making happening in your school music programs*.

There is no prescribed content for music in action videos. Video clips of the safe music making in your programs could include (but are not limited to):

  • In person classroom activities, games or performances

  • Online class activities in action

  • Online performances

    • student solo performances, duets (e.g. guitarist/singer),

    • small ensembles (e.g. brass quintet),

    • larger groups (e.g. wind ensemble, concert band, choir)

    • student/class compositions

  • Outdoor classes in action

*Note that videos that include students must meet school division media release guidelines. Please respect copyright.

Please limit your clips to 30 seconds. Longer videos may be shortened. You can submit more than one clip.
