Music Month 2026
The MMEA and Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning are thrilled to announce the return of the Music Month Concert Series at the Manitoba Legislative Building in May 2026. This concert series brings students together from across the province to showcase the outstanding music teaching and learning in Manitoba.
NEW for this year, the MMEA will be coordinating a Performance Showcase in April 2026. This showcase will bring students together to perform and listen to each other in a unique concert setting. The performances will be filmed and video compilations will be released throughout the month of May.
All Kindergarten to Grade 12 public, independent, and First Nations schools are eligible to apply to perform at either the April Performance Showcase or the May Concert Series.
When choosing performing groups, the selection committee looks for:
a balanced and varied line up at each performance
a mix of grade levels at each concert
representation from rural and urban school divisions throughout the series
The MMEA cannot guarantee that all applications will be accepted.
Please note the following:
Groups are required to stay for the duration of the concert.
Music stands, chairs, a keyboard and microphones will be provided.
Concerts are open to the public.
It is the responsibility of the teacher to obtain media release for all participants seen on video.
